Compare Fractions

Fewer parts means each piece is bigger.
1/2 is bigger than 1/4 of the same whole.
How it works

Would you rather have half a cake or a quarter of it?
💡 Here's the trick
When the same whole is split into fewer parts, each piece is bigger. So 1/2 is bigger than 1/4.
Cut a bar into 2 and the pieces are big. Cut the same bar into 4 and the pieces are smaller. 1/2 is bigger than 1/4.
