Concept 3 of 6

AM, PM & the Day

1

Today's big idea

AM is before noon, PM is after noon.

7 AM breakfast, 7 PM dinner.

2

How it works

👀 What's going on?

7 o'clock happens twice a day. Which one, morning or evening?

💡 Here's the trick

One day, two halvesAMmorningPMafternoon & night12 noon splits the day7 AM breakfast · 7 PM dinner

AM is the first half of the day, from midnight to noon. PM is the second half, from noon to midnight.

Breakfast at 7 AM is in the morning. Dinner at 7 PM is in the evening.

✍️ Try it

You go to school at 8 in the morning. Is that AM or PM? → AM.

⚠️ Watch out

12 noon is the middle of the day, and 12 midnight is the very start.
