One letter on, two on, or one back — copy the hop.
How it works
👀 What's going on?
Say the alphabet and you already know the secret: A, B, C, D… every letter has a next one. A letter pair asks you to spot how the first letter hopped to the second, then make the third letter take the very same hop.
💡 Here's the trick
A letter analogy reads A : B :: C : ?. Find the hop along the alphabet that turns the first letter into the second — one step on, two steps on, or one step back — then give the third letter that same hop.
- 1.Say the alphabet line: A B C D E F… (each letter has its place).
- 2.Count the hop from the first letter to the second — one on, two on, or one back.
- 3.Take the third letter the same number of hops.
✍️ Try it
- 1.A : B :: F : ?
- 2.B : D :: M : ? The first hops one letter on, so F becomes G. The second hops two letters on, so M becomes O.
⚠️ Watch out
Count on the alphabet line instead of guessing, and check your hop fits the first pair before you use it. A hop forward (A→B) and a hop back (B→A) look alike until you check which way it goes.
