Directions: Which Way Now?

1

Today's big idea

Turn, then name the new way

Right is clockwise: N → E → S → W.

2

How it works

👀 What's going on?

Stand facing the door, then turn to your right — you are now facing a new wall without taking a single step. Turning changes the way you face, and a compass helps you name it.

💡 Here's the trick

Which way now?NESW

Look at the compass above. Going clockwise the points read North, East, South, West. A right turn moves you one point clockwise; a left turn moves one point back; a turn-around takes you to the opposite point.

  1. 1.Note the direction you start facing.
  2. 2.Read the turn: right (clockwise), left (back) or all the way around.
  3. 3.Move that many points on the compass to name the new direction.

✍️ Try it

  1. 1.You face North and turn right. Which way now?
  2. 2.You face East and turn all the way around. Which way now? From North, a right turn lands on East. From East, a turn-around lands on the opposite point, West.

⚠️ Watch out

Right is clockwise (N→E→S→W) and left is the other way. Turning the wrong way sends you to the opposite answer, so picture the clock.

See it in action

⚡ Time to play!

Clockwise it goes North → East → South → West. Spin the compass to where the turn lands, then tap Done.

Turn 1 of 3

You are facing North. You turn RIGHT.

Arrow now points: North

Quick check

✅ VERIFICATION
