Grouping: Who Belongs?
Today's big idea
Add the piece that fits
Match the group's rule to join it.
How it works
👀 What's going on?
A lunchbox already holds an apple and a banana. If you had to add one more thing to keep it a fruit box, you would reach for an orange, not a toy car. That is grouping the other way round.
💡 Here's the trick
Look at the little group above. All its members share one thing — they are all fruits, or all clothes, or all bugs. To add a new member you pick the option that shares that same thing.
- 1.Look at the group and name what its members share.
- 2.Look at the options one by one.
- 3.Pick the option that fits the same group.
✍️ Try it
The group is 🐶 🐱. Which belongs — 🐹, 🚗 or 🍎? The group is animals, so 🐹 joins them. A car and an apple are not animals.
⚠️ Watch out
Do not pick an option just because you like it. Match the group's rule. If the group is clothes, only clothing joins.
